The rules of Poker are simple: the more hands you have, the more you win. The game is played with five to eight players, depending on the type of game. A poker game has many similarities with other card games. It was first called “poque,” a French slang word that was often used by card hustlers to cheat unsuspecting opponents. A later addition to the word poke was an “r,” presumably to confuse players who knew the slang. Today, poker is a simple, fast-paced game that involves bluffing. The goal is to make the most money possible.
